Back in 2010, Google introduced a new functionality in its Search Engine called “ Instant Search”. It was appreciated as well as criticized all over the world, where it was useful to save time of many users it was also responsible for the screen freeze.

Developed and Rolled under the supervision of Company`s Vice-President Marissa Mayer, Google claimed it to be a very helpful and brilliant idea which saved users hundreds of seconds. If a user typed any word, the search engine was giving many suggestions to complete a sentence based on previous or most searched sentences. Instant Search where saved many time of the users, this function also had many drawbacks as well. It also caused the screen freezing and frequent lag was the problems above all. Instant Search was even more difficult on mobile as the mobile hardware had very limited resources so, the keyboard freezing was a very common problem during the search which ultimately caused many people to disable this option from their phones. After reviewing all the aspects, Search giant decided to get rid of this functionality. As the Google Spokesperson said:

“We launched Google Instant back in 2010 with the goal to provide users with the information they need as quickly as possible, even as they typed their searches on desktop devices. Since then, many more of our searches happen on mobile, with very different input and interaction and screen constraints. With this in mind, we have decided to remove Google Instant, so we can focus on ways to make Search even faster and more fluid on all devices.”

So, from now on users don`t have to go to their settings and turn off the instant Search results all the time, now they just have to type and will get the search results without any suggestions.
